Workout Rec – Privacy policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Summary

Workout Rec has no server. Everything you enter stays in a spreadsheet in your own Google account and on your phone. The only data sent anywhere else is technical diagnostics (crash reports and similar), with no workout data, no email address and no passwords, and you can turn it off in the app. See Diagnostics.

What the app accesses, and why

When you choose a Google account, the app asks Google for these permissions:

Where your data is stored

Diagnostics

To find and fix problems, the app sends technical diagnostics to Tracer (apptracer.ru), an app-monitoring service by OK.TECH (VK). The developer reads them there. They include:

Diagnostics never include your workouts (exercises, weights, repetitions, dates), your Google account email, name or picture, or any password or access token. No user ID is attached; the service counts installations anonymously. Tracer keeps the data for 90 days.

You can turn diagnostics off at any time: tap your avatar in the app and switch off Send diagnostics. The app then stops sending at once and deletes reports it has not sent yet.

Sharing

The app does not share, sell or transfer your data to anyone. It contains no advertising. Apart from the diagnostics described above, data goes only between your phone and Google's own services.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Workout Rec's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing access

You can sign out in the app at any time. To remove the app's access to your Google account, open Google Account → Third-party apps & services and remove Workout Rec and workout_rec_automation. Removing access does not delete your spreadsheet.
